What attracted you to your profession?

“Growing up I was in awe of some of the physicians my family knew. My grandpa was a doc as well and I spent some summers around him. Even though he was retired there always seemed to be a number of people requesting him for help. It was handy that Biology was my favorite subject - it all fit together.”

What do you enjoy most about it?

“I enjoy being able to help people during some of their difficult moments.”

What drew you to work at Hermann Hospital?

“The grandpa I mentioned - was a country doc. Mom and her siblings shared so many stories about his medical ‘adventures’ from those times. I was intrigued.”

And what do you enjoy most about working at Hermann Hospital?

“I enjoy and thrive in a small town environment. It’s more like a family.”

Additional thoughts:

“I wish more people could see the role of rural medicine. There needs to be more support to help it grow.”
