COVID-19 in Gasconade County

New laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Gasconade county dropped to only 13 (less than half of the previous 2 weeks), dropping the Gasconade County COVID Community Level back down to “Low” or Green.  Statewide cases were up slightly, but fewer patients statewide were hospitalized or in the ICU with COVID.

Updated (Bivalent) Covid Boosters

Updated Covid booster vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna targeting the current circulating variants of Covid (BA.4 & BA.5) are now available at the Gasconade County Health department and many pharmacies.

You Are Eligible for an Updated Booster if:

  • You have completed your Primary Vaccine series (Pfizer, Moderna, Novavax or J&J)
  • It has been at least 2 months since your last COVID vaccine
  • If you recently had COVID, you have recovered from the acute symptoms (NOTE: many experts say OK to delay booster until 2-3 months after getting COVID)
  • You are age 12 or older
  • Note: It is OK to get your annual flu shot the same day for your convenience.

Gasconade County CDC COVID Level is: Low (GREEN)

The Current CDC recommendations for this level of Community COVID are:

  • People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.
  • Get tested if you have symptoms
  • Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines
